Abstract

Global climate change is seen as the most important global problem, which is now defined as irreversible worldwide, will cause drought in climates with an increase in temperature and a decrease in precipitation, and will affect ecosystems and, accordingly, living beings. It is emphasized that this process will have devastating consequences on plants and that it is necessary to take measures on a sectoral basis according to the development of the process by estimating the possible change in climate types. In this study, the current temperature and precipitation values throughout Uşak province and, accordingly, the status of climate types (according to the De Martonne and Emberger climate classification system) were determined, and it was tried to determine how these parameters will change in the period up to 2060 and 2100 within the framework of SSPs 245 and SSPs585 scenarios. As a result of the study, it is predicted that there will be a large temperature increase throughout Uşak province, and the climate types will show arid climate type characteristics. It is estimated that the effects of this change will directly affect the agricultural areas covering about half of the province and indirectly affect almost the entire province, moreover, these effects will begin to be seen in the near future. In order to reduce the effects of the process on agricultural areas and ensure the continuity of product supply, it is proposed to take comprehensive measures, especially species change and changes in the irrigation regime.
