General Characteristics and Importance of Phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham.) and Some Studies in Turkey

Abstract

Turkey has a rich vegetation with its geographical location and climate characteristics. Bees play a very important role in the continuation of our biodiversity. For this reason, researches are being carried out on various herbal products both for the continuation of biodiversity and for the bees to realize a quality production. Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham. depending on the region, ıt is a valuable plant which is evaluated from many areas such as the use of bees as nectar production, as an ornamental plant, as an alternative source of feed in animal production and its use as a cover plant and preventing soil-water erosion. In this study, the general characteristics of Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham, the importance of some of the studies on Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham. in our country are gathered and collected.
