Abstract

As in the world, the effects of climate change are seen in Turkiye in a significant way. In Turkiye, there are serious decreases in water resources in the Central Anatolia region and the risk of drought is also foreseen. While sudden changes in atmospheric temperature negatively affect the livestock sector, the livestock sector also affects climate change with the greenhouse gases it produces. In this context, it can be said that there is a reciprocal relationship between climate change and the livestock sector. Climate change mitigation and adaptation studies have been carried out in Turkiye since the beginning of the 2000s, and some studies have increased, especially with the publication of the European Green Deal and becoming a party to the Paris Agreement. When the livestock sector in the Central Anatolia region is examined, mainly cattle and small cattle breeding have an important place in this region and make a significant contribution to the country’s livestock and economy. In this study, the climate change of the Central Anatolia Region and the animal husbandry of the region were evaluated in general and the relationship between these two phenomena was discussed.
